our story

We are more than a restaurant

Located in a restored bank, Vault 232 includes a bar, dining room, patio, banquet hall, and raw bar, created to share the historical magic of our space.

Stepping into the Vault will make you feel like you’re stepping back in time to the 1930’s when the State Bank first came into operation. Our restaurant and banquet hall are the perfect backdrop for any occasion.

Frank Radogna

Vault 232 is a second-act career for Frank Radogna, who retired from the transportation company he built to pursue a passion shared by many of us: the art of exquisite food. Radogna purchased Diamond Fresh Seafood, later created Franco’s Pescheria, a concept he created with his Italian roots. They had built a loyal clientele after a decade in business, and immediately drafted plans for an expansion and began searching for the right chef. He drew inspiration for his restaurant’s design from a Pescheria in Italy, not far from where his parents and grandparents were born. Much of The Fish Market at Lake Zurich has his Bari culinary influence. He has continued expanding his legacy of bringing real culinary experiences to the suburbs with his latest feat, Vault 232. Of course, Frank has brought his pescheria with him to his new space, now named The Fish Market of Lake Zurich

Where it all Began

Vault 232, once a small-scale eatery, embarked on a new chapter in the spring of 2022 by relocating to a new location. Despite the change in scenery, our mission remains unchanged: to set new standards for gastronomic experiences in suburban Chicagoland. The reception from our customers has been resoundingly positive, and we are thrilled to meet so many individuals who seek out experiential restaurants like ours.

When you choose to gather and dine at Vault 232, you can trust that, regardless of your taste preferences, your meal will be an unforgettable culinary experience.
